Headlice- A Pest

by samora jinqua

There are a lot of home remedies for head lice. One of the best lice treatment is- Mix some mayo and vinegar in a bowl, until it looks similar to a cake batter. Then drop about 8 drops of tea tree oil in the mix, stir. The smell will be strong it comes off when shampooed. Now you put the mix in the hair by separating the hair into about one inch sections as you go, make sure you put it all over the scalp area of the separated hair and then spread it all down the lock of hair.

It is easiest to start at the back of the head and work your way up. Once you have done the whole head, wrap the hair up with a clip on the top (if the hair is long) and put a shower cap or grocery bag over the hair, press the bag down to remove the air. Leave on for a minimum of 2 hours.

While you are waiting for the hair process to be completed you can sanitize your surroundings. Your spray bottle should be filled 3/4 of the way with water and 20 drops of tea tree oil and shaken well. Spray all your fabrics such as carpet, chairs, beds, linens, all areas that lice could find a haven in. Give everything a light spray, do not drench the materials.

Head lice, ticks, fleas, and other insect pests totally hate the smell of tea tree oil which also makes it an excellent spray repellant to use on pets. By adding 5-10 drops of tea tree oil to your child's shampoo, you'll make sure that even though your child is with children who have head lice, he or she won't be likely to pick it up from them. Head lice will actually avoid them.

After two hours, rinse the hair in a sink with water until the water runs clear. At this point you will see dead headlice lying on top of the hair as you rinse. It will amaze you. Now you need to comb threw the hair with a headlice comb to remove the dead bugs as well as the eggs. The eggs will come out so easy because the vinegar eats away the glue that holds the eggs onto the hair. If you need to, you can rinse with conditioner before combing.

After these very simple steps you and your home will remain lice free. As with any lice treatment you will want to repeat these steps 7-10 days after the first treatment, to make certain that no lice eggs have survived. You will want to keep spraying the oil and water mix around your house just incase someone comes to your home with lice. This treatment is the fastest, cheapest, easiest, and unlike the others it is 100%.

There are many home remedies for head lice. One such lice treatment is to mix vinegar, mayo and about 8 drops of tea tree oil into a bowl. Apply the mixture to your hair. Pests such as headlice, ticks, fleas and mosquitoes dislike the odor of tea tree oil, thus making it a great repellant. Comb through your hair to get rid of the dead bugs and eggs. Rinse with conditioner if needed, before combing the hair. Repeat the treatment after 7-10 days to make sure that none of the lice eggs survived. You'll find this treatment to be fast, inexpensive, easy, and 100% guaranteed.
