You may have heard of people converting large disused buildings into residences. But now many buyers are turning their attention to churches.

According to the Scotsman, Ryden property consultants say that they have sold 3 churches in the last 4 months. Buyers paid a combined total of 3 million to buy these buildings that had not been use as places of worship for over 10 years.

One of these churches, Churchil Hall is over 120 years old and has been lying empty for over a decade. The plan is to convert in into 2 semi detached properties.

Local Reverend said that the proceed of the sale of 3 churches will help fund the refurbishment of another church which is regularly used as a place of worship. "This will mean that no monies will be drawn from congregational funds", the Reverend, Dr Browning said.

It may appear that there is still some life in the property market.
